welcome to the team!

If you’re reading this, that means you are taking one of the biggest and most important steps of your career – an internship.

Internships are essential to gaining hands-on experience and giving yourself a better opportunity to succeed in accomplishing what I know are ambitious career goals.

At BGE, we take the opportunity to have interns join our team very seriously. We take pride in helping to educate the next generation of young minds that will help shape our world for years to come. Not only because it means a better world for us but also because we hope they will be doing so as part of BGE.

I can’t wait to have you join us this summer to assist with all the exciting projects we have in motion at our firm, and we hope you are just as excited to join us. On behalf of us all here at BGE, welcome to the team!

Sincerely,
Lee Lennard

TAKING A LOOK BACK

We can’t wait to welcome you to BGE!

In the meantime, here’s a “sneak peek” at a few things in store for you this summer. We look forward to sharing similar experiences with you.

What Former Interns Have to Say

There are many at BGE who began their careers with the firm in the same position you hold now – intern. Since then, they’ve joined our team full time. Here’s what some former interns had to say about how their experience at BGE helped shape their careers:

“It allowed me to gain real-world experience while I was still in school. This helped me see what I needed to pay special attention to in lectures to better understand what I was doing at work. It also gave me a glimpse into the workforce, and I got to see how people in positions I hope to be in one day interact with others.”

“My internship was with the private development side of Construction Management. My day-to-day involved inspecting the work that was occurring at the Elyson master-planned community. Professionally, the experience helped me gain a better understanding of how a project evolves from a plan set to a product. Personally, I have developed more confidence in applying my skill set.”

Q&A with Lee Lennard

If you could ask the BGE President and CEO any question, what would it be?

We hope you have something in mind because you’ll get an opportunity to do just that. Whether it’s relating to how to get ahead in your career or if he thinks Kong would actually beat Godzilla, he will have an answer for you.  Below is a video with his responses to some of the many questions he fielded from interns last year.

Intern Challenge

Every summer, we host a marketing challenge, in which interns complete a task relating to an engineering passion of theirs. Whether it’s a brand new creation or an improvement to current practices, interns develop and market their idea. Begin thinking about how YOU can change the world. Last year’s winner, Mariana Correa, had her submission published on our website, giving her an official publication credit to add to her resume.
