Houston, TX – We’re excited to welcome Alan Wang, PE, to BGE as a Senior Project Manager in our Transportation Systems department.
With more than 40 years of engineering experience, Alan recently retired from TXDOT’s Houston District, where he spent 33 years shaping the region’s transportation landscape. For over two decades, he led the district’s largest central design section, overseeing some of Houston’s most complex highway and freeway reconstruction efforts. His deep expertise spans civil and mechanical engineering, with a focus on transportation systems, traffic operations, hydraulics, and geotechnical design.
Alan’s technical expertise covers a wide range of engineering fundamentals, from structural and transportation design, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, and materials science. He also has a strong foundation in business management, honed through his MBA from the University of Houston and years of operational leadership.
Throughout his career, Alan has held key roles, including Director Design Section B, Assistant Design Supervisor, and Hydraulic Review Engineer. His deep understanding of TXDOT processes and commitment to excellence make him a valuable asset to our team and clients.
Alan holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, an MBA from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from China. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
