BGE Partners with Port Houston for Terminal Renewal Plan

Work is underway by BGE, Inc. to create an engineering plan for Port Houston to upgrade 20 acres of container yard, which has been in use since 1983 in the northern section of Barbours Cut Terminal.

The plan, which is slated for completion in just four months, will focus on restoration to Yard 1 North and Yard 2 North which is used for container storage.

Port Houston is focused on maximizing the efficiency of this heavily-used area, which is located immediately behind the containership wharf and dockside cranes.

BGE, working with the Port, will create plans and specifications to upgrade the facility with new pavement, drainage, utilities, lighting, and electrical systems. A critical piece of the plans will be phasing of the work to minimize its impact on on-going container operations.
