Bill Kotlan Honored with BGE’s Pat Brown Leadership Award

BGE, Inc. announced today that Bill Kotlan is the recipient of its 2023 Pat Brown Leadership Award. This award is named after BGE founder L.S. “Pat” Brown and recognizes an employee who is committed to making a difference in our communities through his or her daily interactions and contributions to professional or community organizations.

Kotlan, who joined BGE in 2014, is a Director of Land Development in the Houston region and serves as the firm’s office leader in The Woodlands.

Bill was selected for his work with International Literacy and Development (ILAD), a non-profit, non-governmental organization providing literacy, language technology, business development, and agribusiness training and support for under resourced communities. Since its inception in 2011, ILAD has grown under Bill’s leadership, first as President and now as Board Chair, to a team of about 50 workers serving in nine countries on five continents.

Bill is a member of several professional organizations such as Waller County Economic Development Partnership, Woodlands Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Council, and North Houston Association. He is also heavily involved with his church, All Saints Church of Conroe, where he serves on the church council as a volunteer associate pastor and leads a home group study.

“Making a difference in our communities is an integral part of who BGE is,” said Houston Region Operations Leader Rodney Heisch. “Bill’s leadership and service with ILAD and his church are great examples of this foundational conviction. It’s an honor to have Bill on our team and I’m proud to have him recognized for this award.”

In honor of Bill’s leadership with ILAD, BGE is donating $1,000 to the organization.
