Dan Prendergast, PE, Joins BGE as Director, Public Works

BGE, Inc. today announced that Dan Prendergast, PE, has joined the company as a Director in our Public Works Department, based out of the firm’s Frisco, Texas, office.

A distinguished civil engineer with over 18 years of experience, Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and is passionate about municipal infrastructure, development, and long-term strategic planning. His expertise spans roadways, drainage systems, water distribution, wastewater collection, water quality, and waste disposal.

Dan developed the first pavement management program for the City of Plano to address the city’s aging street infrastructure and led the successful implementation of the city’s $231M street bond program. In addition, Dan also oversaw the development of the city’s first 100-year water infrastructure plan.

“We are excited to have someone with Dan’s experience join BGE,” said Carl Krogness, North Texas Public Works Senior Director. “Through his dedication and leadership, Dan helped create cities that are functional and efficient. He will enhance our team’s capabilities and ability to anticipate our client’s needs.”

“I decided to join BGE because I was drawn to the company’s vision of how I fit into improving the client experience through innovative long-term personal connections that focus on people over financial gain,” said Dan. “The company’s commitment to good stewardship, sustainability, and making a positive community impact resonates with me. BGE also provides the platform to share the unique and innovative approaches to long-term infrastructure planning that I created and successfully implemented in the City of Plano to other municipalities in Texas.”

Dan brings a unique combination of engineering design experience, program implementation, and operational knowledge that few others in the field possess. In addition to his professional achievements, Dan volunteers his time and expertise to mentor young engineers and actively participates in initiatives to promote STEM education in schools.
