BGE, Inc. announced today that Jean Leonard is the recipient of its 2022 Pat Brown Leadership Award. This award is named after BGE founder L.S. “Pat” Brown and recognizes an employee who exemplifies leadership in the community and the BGE Way.

Jean joined BGE in 2019 and serves as a senior air quality project manager in the Environmental Services department in the firm’s North Austin office. She was selected for the honor because of her strong leadership with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a charitable organization that serves as an advocate for abused and neglected children to ensure that each child’s needs remain a priority.

Over the past five years as a CASA volunteer, Jean has assisted children in navigating the foster care and legal system while also spending time with them to better understand their needs and desires. In addition, she serves as an ambassador for the organization, actively recruiting and sharing her passion with others.

“At BGE, we’re about making a difference in the communities we serve, and Jean’s long-standing leadership with CASA exemplifies this commitment,” said Central Texas Operations Leader Wes Jasek. “It’s an honor to have Jean on our team, and I’m proud to see her recognized in this way.”

BGE is donating $1,000 to CASA in honor of Jean’s leadership.
