John King, PE, Joins BGE as a Senior Project Manager in Public Works

BGE, Inc. recently announced that John King, PE, has joined the company as a Senior Project Manager in our Public Works department and will be based out of our North Austin, Texas, office. John’s key responsibilities will include project management and senior engineering oversight for major civil infrastructure projects, quality control reviews, and mentoring of BGE’s Public Works staff.

John comes to BGE with over 40 years of experience in public works and water resources planning, design, and construction, with a specialization in major water, wastewater, drainage, and dam public infrastructure. He recently was the Senior Engineer for three projects that won state and national awards, including the City of Austin’s East Austin Water, Wastewater and Storm Drain Collector Emergency Project.

“We are proud to add John and his award-winning background to an already strong Public Works team at BGE,” said Brian Rice, Director of Public Works. “His talent and strengths will make an immediate impact on our company and with our clients.”

John has a bachelor of science in civil engineering degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He enjoys organic gardening and beekeeping, so in his free time, he and his wife work on their property to keep it vegetated with natural pollen and nectar-producing plants.

BGE is excited to add John to the Public Works team to continue our success in this field of work.
