Ben Engelhardt, P.E. is a seasoned professional engineer with deep expertise in transportation infrastructure. He retired from TxDOT in Spring 2025 after a career spanning more than 25 years, including the last decade as Director of Construction for the Austin District.
Ben’s experience includes hands-on work in construction and maintenance projects, as well as overseeing their administration. This background has given him valuable insight into resolving design challenges, coordinating utilities, and addressing constructability issues. His strategic oversight and practical approach have consistently contributed to successful project delivery.
Now at BGE, Ben applies his extensive knowledge to both the construction and design phases, helping prepare and execute projects with a focus on delivering them on time and within budget.
