Dr. Karissa Basse is a cultural resources professional and Registered Professional Archaeologist with more than 20 years of experience leading archaeological investigations, historic preservation efforts, and environmental compliance projects throughout Texas and the southern United States. As a Principal Investigator and practice leader, she specializes in navigating complex regulatory frameworks including the Antiquities Code of Texas, the National Historic Preservation Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act, helping public- and private-sector clients successfully advance infrastructure, energy, transportation, water, and land development projects. Dr. Basse has managed hundreds of cultural resources studies, multidisciplinary project teams, and multimillion-dollar project portfolios, and is recognized for her ability to integrate cultural resources considerations into broader planning and environmental processes. She is committed to technical excellence, innovative problem-solving, and collaborative stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering practical solutions that support both responsible development and the preservation of cultural heritage.
