Demonstrating BGE’s commitment to Planning and Landscape Architecture (P+LA) services in Florida, the firm announced today that both Jeff Westmoreland and Nicole Young have joined the company and will be based out of the Sarasota, FL office. Westmoreland joins BGE as Director, P+LA. and Young as Senior Landscape Architect.
Together, Westmoreland and Young bring 44 years of combined P+LA experience through their work on a wide range of public and private projects.
“The breadth and depth of Jeff and Nicole’s work experience provide immediate bandwidth and capacity to the Florida market for planning and landscape architecture services,” said Randy Randermann, BGE’s Southeast region operations leader. “We are very excited to bring Jeff and Nicole on board. This is a tremendous opportunity as we add complementary services to support our clients in Florida.”
Westmoreland has 27 years of land planning, site design and construction experience with a heavy emphasis on private development, including master-planned communities, golf course design work, resorts, etc. Young brings 17 years of landscape architecture experience with a wide variety of public and private projects, including parks and recreation, university, greenways, hospitals, streetscapes, etc.
Westmoreland earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from NC State University. He is a registered landscape architect in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, gardening, boating, fishing and doing DIY projects.
Young earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from NC State University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Ithaca College. She is a registered landscape architect in NC and is working on her Florida registration. Nicole also is certified as a LEED Green Associate. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, visiting parks, hiking trails and golfing.
