(Austin, TX) – BGE is pleased to welcome Steve Linhart, AICP, as Senior Planner supporting our Transportation Systems practice.
With extensive experience in multi-modal transportation planning, corridor studies, environmental planning, and statewide program development, Steve brings a strong technical background and a proven ability to lead complex planning initiatives for state and municipal clients. His expertise includes managing large-scale planning studies, coordinating stakeholders and working-group engagement, and guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven results.
Steve has built his career around helping agencies make informed, strategic transportation investment decisions. His work spans long-range mobility planning, interstate system development, and safety-focused feasibility studies. Steve’s leadership has supported planning initiatives across Texas, ensuring that project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables consistently meet client expectations.
Before joining BGE, Steve served as a Project Development Manager for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on multiple high-profile statewide and regional initiatives. His experience includes leading implementation plans for the Interstate 14 and 69 systems, managing feasibility studies for the Ports-to-Plains Corridor in west and south Texas and US Highway 83 in the lower Rio Grande Valley, evaluating the hurricane evacuation route section of US Highway 290 between Austin and Houston, and overseeing the re-evaluation of the 10,000-mile Texas Highway Trunk System in the rural sections of the state. He has worked closely with TxDOT leadership, advisory committees, working groups, and the public to ensure transparent and collaborative planning processes.
Steve served as a Senior Planner with another consulting firm acting as the City of Fort Worth general planning consultant, where he supported development of the City’s 2026 transportation bond program, federal grant applications, preliminary engineering reports, and feasibility studies.
His experience leading statewide and regional planning efforts — combined with his commitment to collaboration, quality, and practical solutions — positions him to make an immediate impact on the clients and communities we serve.
