Axen Honored with Pat Brown Leadership Award

Blake Axen was recently named the recipient of the Pat Brown Leadership Award. This annual award is one of BGE, Inc.’s highest honors and is given to an employee across BGE’s footprint who exemplifies leadership outside of the office through service to their community.

Axen is a project manager in BGE’s Construction Management department in the North Texas region, and he is being honored for leveraging his professional skills to help his community.

As part of his service to his community, Axen serves on the Construction Codes Board of Adjustments and Appeals, the Capital Improvement Advisory committee, and as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Mansfield. In these roles, he has assisted with public works, infrastructure and other engineering responsibilities for the betterment of the city. He also served as the first president for his neighborhood HOA, helping to establish an operational budget, rainy day fund, HOA committees, and community service projects.

Axen’s leadership and commitment to his community have had a significant impact on the City of Mansfield and has not gone unnoticed by BGE leadership.

“At BGE, we exist to serve. Blake is a great example of what we mean when we say that,” said Doug Dillon, PE, BGE board member and North Texas region operations leader. “During his five years here at BGE, he has exemplified leadership in his service to our clients, the community and his family.”
