BGE engineers in Austin designed rain gardens at both Sims Elementary School and Houston Tillotson University alongside UT engineering students and local community members. The event on April 22 was hosted by the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI), a ASCE technical organization focused on environmental and water-related issues. EWRI puts on several rain garden projects a year to educate and engage local communities on water issues. UT students design the rain gardens as part of their curriculum.
