APWA-HONORED TRANSPORTATION PROJECT

BGE puts excellence in the fast lane

In 2024, BGE’s IH-35 Waco 4B was selected by the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association as its Project of the Year for Transportation. A seven-mile, $341 million project, it was considered the largest design-bid-build project in the state, earning:

TEXAS APWA CONFERENCE

At its 2023 annual conference, the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association honored BGE and its clients with four awards recognizing excellence in the field of public works throughout the state. These include:

Cinco Ranch MUD 1

A West Houston community turns to BGE for help achieving a mandated ten-year reduction in potable water usage by 60%. These efforts will make a lasting impact on the community and serve as a model for long-term water management across the region.

CAPEX DRAIN TUNNEL AND PUMP STATION

Acceleration through innovation

With virtual reality, 3D modeling, and proactive risk management and communication strategies, BGE fast-tracked the full-facility design of two drain tunnels and a concrete pump station, lowering Austin’s I-35 by 40 feet and widening it to two lanes, adding greenspace overhead.
