BGE Project Manager Earns TAWWA Young Engineer of the Year Award

BGE, Inc. is proud to announce that Kate Hallaway has earned the 2020 Texas Water Works Association Young Engineer of the Year Award. Hallaway is a project manager in the Public Works Department, working on water and wastewater facility design and large diameter water line projects.

She has been involved in the Southeast Chapter of the Texas American Water Works Association since 2016 and has served as the chapter communications chair and membership chair. She currently serves as the chapter secretary.

Hallaway has 15 years of experience (seven with BGE); she received her bachelor’s of science in civil engineering and a master’s of business administration from Rice University. Hallaway is the second consecutive BGE employee to earn the award.

“I am honored and very excited to be receiving this award. I love the work that I get to do every day and the impact that it has on our Houston community and around Texas,” Hallaway said.

She will officially receive her award at the 2020 Young Engineers of the Year Banquet on Monday, Feb. 17.
